Sacramento Area Congregations Together (Sacramento ACT)

Congregation Beth Shalom is a member of Sacramento Area Congregations Together (Sacramento ACT). Sacramento ACT draws people into meaningful community leadership. Working with religious congregations, schools, and neighborhood institutions in the Sacramento area, ACT brings people together to strengthen the quality of life for families and to improve communities. We are comprised of over 40 member institutions and over 40,000 families.

CBS has worked with Sacramento ACT to conduct a listening session with our congregants and survey what community-wide issues are important to them. One outcome from the survey was "how can CBS help impact the region's foster care system?"
In response, the CBS Social Action committee is working towards helping foster youth in our community.  With Sacramento ACT, we are seeking ways to impact policy that will result in improving the lives of foster children and all children in our community.
