Yoo Ri Clark

Bio

An award-winning coloratura soprano and bel canto specialist, Yoo Ri Clark performed abroad in Great Britain, Denmark, Italy, Austria, South Korea and Mexico. Her recent appearances on the operatic stage include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Amina in La sonnambula and Gilda in Rigoletto. In concert, recent appearances as a soprano soloist include Glière’s Concerto for Coloratura Soprano, Poulenc’s Gloria and other large choral works such as Fauré’s Requiem, Hadyn’s Missa Cellensis, Mozart’s Krönungsmesse, Vaughan-Williams’ Serenade to Music, and Handel’s Messiah.

Yoo Ri achieved recognition as a finalist and multiple prizewinner of several prestigious competitions including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna, The MacAllister Awards for Singers, and the Classical Singer Magazine Competition.

Currently on faculty at American River College, Yoo Ri taught voice, piano and music theory for over 20 years and performed extensively as a collaborative pianist specializing in vocal, operatic, choral and church music and improvisation. As a vocal instructor, she assisted in a series of vocal seminars in the jazz program at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy.

Yoo Ri received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance cum laude with a minor in Piano from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona and a Certificate in the Program of Professional Studies for Opera Singers from New Voice Studio Brilla-Paglin in Osimo, Italy.
